Youthwork (Youthwork)
Take the first step!
LOCATION:
Onsite at Mallow Campus
INTRODUCTION:
Are you considering a career as a Youth worker?
Youth workers find employment in schools, health centres, social service centres, and community or religious organisations. Youth workers support the personal development of young people and help them learn to be responsible young people.
This programme is designed to facilitate the learner to explore Youth Work with a view to re-skilling/up-skilling and exploring concepts and subject areas that may interest the learner in future programmes or employment. It will afford the learner opportunities to enhance their confidence and ability to develop the skills to reach their full potential as well as to further develop their interpersonal, team working, problem solving and time management skills, as appropriate, so that the learner is enabled to take responsibility for his/her own learning and to support progression including future participation in education and employment.
The learner who successfully completes this programme will achieve the Level 5 Certificate in Youth Work 5M4732. The learner may then be eligible to apply to progress to the next or higher levels of the National Framework of Qualifications (NFQ) with a higher education provider.
